From the Brand: In 1972, Jay "Sparky" Longley, the founder of Rainbow Sandals, Inc., began experimenting with making sandals in his Laguna Beach garage. With an initial investment of $200, he purchased a sewing machine and some rubber, setting out to create the best sandal. Rainbow Sandals, Inc. was officially established in 1974, and today, the company produces over 2 million pairs of sandals annually.

Longley's goal has always been to create a quality product that would not end up in landfills, and this commitment continues even after the sandals leave the store. Fifty years later, the Rainbow Sandals Factory Outlet remains at its original location in San Clemente, California.
