Brand Story Conceived in 1972, Jay "Sparky" Longley's journey to create the perfect sandal began in his Laguna Beach garage. With just $200, he purchased a sewing machine and some rubber, embarking on his mission to make the best sandal. In 1974, he officially founded Rainbow Sandals, Inc. Today, the company produces over 2 million pairs of sandals annually.
The goal has always been to create a quality product that will not end up in a landfill, and that commitment continues even after the sandals leave the store. 50 years later, the Rainbow Sandals Factory Outlet remains at its original location in San Clemente, California.
