About this Item: Crafted with Luxury Leather, these sandals feature 1/2" straps, a single-layer arch, and triple-glued bonded nylon thread. The journey of these sandals began in 1972 when Jay "Sparky" Longley, the founder of Rainbow Sandals, Inc., started experimenting with making sandals in his Laguna Beach garage. With just $200, he purchased a sewing machine and some rubber, determined to create the best sandal.
In 1974, Longley officially launched Rainbow Sandals, and today, the company produces 2 million pairs annually. Their mission has always been to create a quality product that won't end up in landfills, and that commitment continues even after the sandals leave the store. 50 years later, the Rainbow Sandals Factory Outlet is still located at 326 Calle de Los Molinos, San Clemente, CA.
Longley's passion for his creations is evident in the countless stories he has received from customers about the miles they have walked in their Rainbow Sandals. The company's philosophy of Repair, Reuse, Recycle is a testament to their dedication to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
Product Description: Both single-layer and double-layer sandals offer arch support. The double-layer design raises the heel by 5/16th of an inch, making it ideal for those with high arches or who wear insoles.
If you find yourself between sizes, the company suggests sizing down. To break in the sandals, customers have reported that wedging a tennis ball or water bottle under the straps overnight can help stretch them. Wearing socks can also protect your skin while the straps mold to your feet. Start with 5 minutes of wear and gradually increase the time, allowing your feet to adjust.
For cleaning, customers have had success wiping the sandals down with a damp cloth and light soap. However, please note that the Rainbow Sandals Agreement does not cover water damage or delamination of the layers resulting from cleaning.
If your leather sandals get wet, be sure to allow them to dry completely out of direct sunlight to prevent the leather from becoming brittle and cracking. You may find that the sandals curl up after drying in direct sunlight or extreme heat, but with continued use, they should flatten out and return to their normal shape.
